My Story
Growing up on the island of Kauai and practicing hula, I developed an intimate relationship with plants that continues to shape my life and work. After studying indigenous methods on the island, I spent years of study in Western botanical medicine through multiple schools and apprenticeships. I’ve since cultivated a unique, intuitive approach to herbology rooted in accessibility, empowerment, and care. My goal is to make herbal medicine user-friendly and to share knowledge so people can confidently participate in their own health.
My background includes work as a prevention educator with the YWCA Sexual Assault Treatment Program, working as a birth doula, and an on-site herbalist for a fertility clinic. I opened and ran a clinic within a women’s trauma recovery program, Shakti Rising in San Diego, where I treated clients and facilitated classes. I also developed and taught a 300-hour herbology certification course for Holistic Health Practitioner programs at the college level, and represented Gaia Herbs as a sales rep.
Through volunteer work in service to women, my practice has come to focus on reproductive health, trauma recovery, and soothing the nervous system. As an experienced health consultant, I bridge culture and science by pairing clients with plants as both medicinal resources and allies. I consider where a person comes from—emotionally, physically, and environmentally—recognizing that healing is often about restoring balance and addressing underlying beliefs alongside physical symptoms.
In response to the Lahaina fires, I’ve spent years doing humanitarian work on Maui, collaborating with Maui Medics and Pacific Birth Collective to bring remedies and support to the underserved community. Through this work, my practice continues to be guided by service, resilience, and care for collective well-being.
